Climate
The average temperature in Minsk in June ranges from 11,7°С (53,06 °F) to 21,5°С (70,7 °F). The average monthly rainfall is 89 mm (3.5 in).

Credit cards
Visa and MasterCard credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.
You can pay for taxi and public transport (when purchasing tickets from a bus driver) only in cash in local currency (BYN).
Traveler’s checks are accepted only at banks.

Currency
The currency of Belarus is BYN (Belarusian ruble). Currency exchange can be done at a bank, big hotels or any currency exchange offices in Minsk. There are the following Belarusian coins and banknotes:

Electricity
The standard voltage is 220v and the standard frequency is 50Hz.
There two plug types in Belarus:

Internet Connection
Delegates are offered free high-speed Internet access (Wi-Fi) on the territory of the "Beijing" Hotel, as well as in "Minsk" Hotel and "Belarus" Hotel.

Language
Belarus has two official languages – Belarusian and Russian. English is used in business communication.

Smoking
In Belarus smoking is allowed only in specially designated and equipped areas in a number of public places (buildings of public authorities, health care, culture, education, trade and consumer services, catering facilities, as well as all types of stations, metro stations, etc.).

Taxation
Taxes are included in the cost of goods. In Belarus only non-residents of the Eurasian Customs Union of Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Kazakhstan are eligible to claim a VAT refund.
Tax-free applies to certain categories of goods, subject to VAT at a rate of 20%, and provides a return of 15% of the purchase amount.
You are eligible for a Tax refund on the day of purchase provided your purchase cost is over 80 Belarussian rubles and was made at a shop participating in the VAT refund program.

Time zone
Belarus is in the Eastern European Standard (EET) time zone. EET is 3 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+3).

Tips
The usual amount of the tip is 10% of the bill in cafes and restaurants.
Tipping taxi drivers, receptionists and cleaners is optional.

Vaccination
No specific vaccinations are required to travel to Belarus.
