Accreditation procedure of mass media representatives for the seventh Session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context and the third Session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context, serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol on Strategic Environmental Assessment

1. This Accreditation Procedure of Mass Media Representatives is designed to provide information support for the events of the seventh Session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context and the third Session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context, serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol on Strategic Environmental Assessment (the Espoo Convention), which will be held from June 13 to June 16, 2017 in Minsk.

2. Documents submission for the accreditation of foreign mass media representatives for the coverage of the Espoo Convention events is carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

The list of documents necessary for obtaining accreditation is posted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus in the section "Press Service - Accreditation" and corresponds to the procedure for obtaining temporary accreditation of foreign mass media representatives.

Foreign journalists with valid accreditation at the Belarusian Foreign Ministry and wishing to participate in covering the Espoo Convention events should also send a corresponding application to the Foreign Ministry press service.

Applications for accreditation with the signature of the head of the editorial staff of the media are sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus by e-mail: press@mfa.gov.by.

The deadline for applications is June 5, 2017 (inclusive).

3. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus sends the lists of representatives of foreign (including Russian) media for accreditation to the Espoo Convention to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus until June 7, 2017.

4. Accreditation of representatives of Belarusian mass media to the Espoo Convention is carried out by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.

Applications for the accreditation of representatives of the Belarusian mass media with the signature of the head of the editorial office, indicating full name, position, passport data, date and place of birth, place of residence (registration), and the duration of stay at the Espoo Convention are sent to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic Belarus (220004, Minsk, Koolektornaya street, 10, press-secretary: tel .: + 375 (17) 200-97-10, e-mail: pressmediator@gmail.com).

The deadline for applications is June 7, 2017.

5. Consolidated lists of representatives of Belarusian and foreign media, including Russian ones, accredited to cover the Espoo Convention are formed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus and approved by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.

6. Accreditation of representatives of Belarusian and foreign media (including Russian) at the events of the Espoo Convention with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus is carried out by the Press Secretary of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

7. Issuance of accreditation badges will be carried out by the press secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.

When obtaining a badge, it is necessary: ​​for representatives of the Belarusian media, to have an identity document (business card and passport), for representatives of foreign media - an accreditation card of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

The transfer of the badge to a third party will be considered a violation of the procedure of the Espoo Convention, as a result of which the accreditation of persons will be automatically canceled.

Persons who are not employees of media outlets are not eligible for accreditation.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus has the right to refuse accreditation without explaining the reasons.
